Pastrňák, Hertl and others! How was filming with NHL hockey players for Warner Bros?

Imagine you receive an email from global media company Warner Bros. asking your production company to film a series of video interviews with NHL stars for TNT Sports.
Unreal!
Warner Bros. is one of the largest film studios in the world with over a century of history and countless iconic films and television shows.
TNT Sports, a Warner Bros. Discovery is known for its quality sports coverage, especially in the USA, where it is one of the main broadcasters of the NBA and NHL.
And it was for TNT Sports that we filmed interviews with the best hockey players in the world.
Teamwork and professional equipment
Our mission was to film interviews with a total of 23 elite NHL hockey players, including names like David Pastrňák, Martin Nečas, Petr Mrázek and other stars from different countries.
To meet this challenge, we engaged our seven-member Markusfilm team and went to the Hilton Hotel in Prague, where the filming took place.
We were equipped with the best technologies on the market - RED Komodo cameras, each of which costs over half a million crowns, top lenses, Arri lights, tripods and other professional film equipment.
This cooperation gave us not only valuable experience, but also a unique opportunity to work with the best.
The preparations started from the early hours of the morning, when we carefully installed the entire scene.
Everything had to be perfect because the requirements were very specific.
One of our biggest "mini-dramas" was finding a precisely defined chair that had to meet a certain dimension.
After many attempts, IKEA came to our rescue, and thanks to the dedication of our production team, who personally undertook the assembly, we managed to bring everything to a successful conclusion.
Green screen and background keying
The interviews were filmed on a green background (so-called green screen), which allowed us to later key and add different digital environments that corresponded to the concept of TNT.
All this placed high demands not only on technique, but also on team coordination and precision.
Every detail had to be thought out and coordinated, from the lighting setup to the sound technology.
A great experience that we will never forget
For us at Markusfilm, this shoot was not only a huge challenge, but also a valuable experience.
A call from Warner Bros. was a confirmation of our hard work and the quality we try to put into every project.
The European media tour for TNT Sports was an opportunity for us to show what we can do and push our boundaries a little further.
This cooperation gave us not only valuable experience, but also a unique opportunity to work with the best - both from the point of view of hockey players and from the point of view of the production team of TNT Sports and Warner Bros.
The whole event required precise preparation, teamwork and technical skills, which we managed with pride. Our team really shined in this challenging project and we are grateful for this unforgettable opportunity.
